Adam's Blessings And Prosperity
God placed everything that Adam could ever need or want in the Garden of Eden with him. He lacked nothing. God wanted Adam to have
every good thing in life. He had Eve for companionship, he had dominion over everything and he had a rich abundant kingdom. But Satan
came and deceived Eve. Adam was not deceived and knew that eating of the tree of knowledge meant separation from God. When Adam ate of
that tree, he died spiritually because the nature of Satan, sin and death, overtook Adam’s once righteous spirit. Adam by his own
choice had given himself and his kingdom over to Satan and was now under Satan’s curse and dominion. He had to leave the Garden of
Eden and God’s abundance to work hard and sweat to survive. Adam’s wonderful life that God had given him had been reduced to a
curse of sickness, disease, poverty and lack because Adam chose to obey Satan.
But from the beginning, it was God’s will for Adam to live in prosperity because He gave Adam every good thing he could possibly
want in the garden. And since God is the same yesterday, today and forever Hebrews 13:8, that is His will for us too...to live in
prosperity and abundance just like Adam did James 1:17.
Abraham's Blessings And Prosperity
When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord promised to make a covenant with him and his seed for generations to follow if he would walk with
God and obey God. He promised that Abraham would be the father of many nations, that he would be exceedingly fruitful and that kings
would come from him. God promised to protect, prosper and provide for him and his descendants Jeremiah 7:23. God promised to be Abraham’s
"exceedingly great reward" and that encompasses everything that Abraham would ever need Genesis 15:1. God also promised Abraham the land
of Canaan Genesis 17:1-9. God had blessed Abraham in all things Genesis 24:1. Because Abraham walked with God, nothing could harm him
physically or materially and nothing could change God’s promise.
God also established His covenant with Abraham’s seed as He said He'd do through his son Isaac and his son Jacob and his son Joseph.
God promised them blessings and to multiply their descendants for Abraham’s sake. They all became great and wealthy as well.
Genesis 17:21, 26:13-14, 24, 30:43, 39:22-23, 41:38-43.
Also because of the covenant between God and Abraham, the children of Israel, Abraham’s descendants, were delivered. Exodus 2:24-25, 3:8.
So because Abraham was obedient and walked with God, God kept His promise and blessed his generations to follow.
