Owe No Man But To Love Him

Read Romans 13:8. Owe no one anything but to love him? What is God saying here? God is saying to stay out of debt, stop the borrowing, stop the credit card charging, stop owing others money. Put your faith in God and His Word that He will provide all your needs and your sources of money. God is your Father and He wants to supply all of your needs. He wants you to rely on Him for your finances, not others. If you are in debt, start believing that God will get you out of debt. Get committed to His Word. The great thing about God is that He won’t loan you anything, He’ll give it to you outright. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you Matthew 6:33. You must seek God first. Is it a sin to borrow money? No because if that were true, God would be telling the Israelites to sin when He said they would lend to many nations and would not borrow in Deuteronomy 28:12. If it were a sin, God wouldn’t have told the Israelites to even "lend" money. God doesn’t want us on the receiving end though. The problem with borrowing is that it is controlled by the world’s system. In Proverbs 22:7, God says that we become a servant of the lender. This is not what God wants. God wants to be our supplier. It is not a sin to borrow but try your best to get out of debt and be financially prosperous, relying on God for your needs. Read 3 John 1:2. This is saying that you will prosper to the level that your soul prospers. You can’t apply just the prosperity part of the Bible. You must apply it all and to live for God. You may not be at that point in your life where you can be debt free and to stop borrowing money or charging things. It takes a lot of faith to get to that point and that comes by knowing God’s Word and growing in it and applying it in your life. Wherever you are in your financial circumstances, begin to trust in God. Start somewhere. Start small and grow in your faith and begin to believe that you too will be debt free so that you will owe no man but to love him.

Keep Focused On God And Believe

Read 2 Corinthians 9:8. You may think that it is impossible to believe for something as big as a house and to get it by not borrowing any money. It is not impossible in God’s eyes. If that is what you want then you must have faith that God will give it to you and digest God’s Word. You cannot look at your circumstances, your income or your bankbook. You must look at God's promises and believe that they apply to you too. It may take several years to come true but God will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. Do not put limits on what you ask God for. He can do much more than we can imagine as He promised in Ephesians 3:20. It says exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
