What Is The Prayer Of Agreement?
This is when two or more people come together and agree with one another concerning the Word of God,
that the thing you're asking for will be done. There is great power as you will see when you use your faith and come into
an agreement of prayer with God, His Word, and with other Christians. Remember also that disagreement brings a loss of power
and that being double-minded will cause you not to receive anything from the Lord - James 1:5-8.
The following study will show you the great things that will happen when you agree in prayer with someone.
The Power Of Agreement . . .
Will Bring Victory:
Read Exodus 17:12
Here in this verse,
Israel defeated Amalek while Moses held up the rod of God in his hand. When Moses held up his hand,
Israel overcame and when his hand went down, Amalek overcame. Moses needed help holding up his hands
because they became so heavy. To help, Aaron and Hur supported his hands and caused them to be steady
to defeat Amalek. Here Moses needed help as we all do sometimes.
Will Bring 10 Fold Increase In Power
Read Deuteronomy 32:30
This verse is speaking of increasing the power of prayer 10 fold if you agree with someone where it says "one chase a
1000, and two put 10,000 to flight."
Helps You Make The Right Decisions
Read Acts 1:24
shows them praying together and asking the Lord to show them who He has chosen. You can count on God
to help you make the right decisions too.
Brings The Holy Ghost
Read Acts 2:1-2
Here on the Day of
Pentecost, they were all praying with one accord which caused the Holy Ghost to come sounding as a rushing mighty wind.
The power of agreement ushers in the Holy Ghost.
Read Matthew 18:19-20
In these verses we have
Jesus telling us that if two or three of us agree on Earth in prayer, and we are gathered together in His name,
there He will be in the midst of us.
Read Acts 3:1-9
In this story, Peter
and John were going into the temple together to pray when they met a lame man at the gate. Peter told him to
rise up and walk in the name of Jesus Christ and immediately he received his strength and was healed.
Your prayers of agreement can bring miracles into your lives also, just as they did for Peter and John.
Brings Great Power
Read Acts 4:31-33
Here is an account
of the Apostles praying together for boldness. After their prayers, the place was shaken and filled with the
Holy Spirit. They were of one heart and one soul.
Read Acts 4:34-37
This continues from "Brings Great Power"
directly above. After the Apostles prayed for boldness, and gave witness to the resurrection of Jesus, land and house owners sold
their possessions and brought the proceeds to the Apostles and they then distributed to everyone who had need.
Read Acts 12:5-11
These verses tell of Peter when he was in prison.
The church prayed to God for him constantly. Peter was bound by chains with guards and soldiers next to him. One night an angel of
the Lord came and he released the chains from Peters hands and set him free. These prayers of agreement gave Peter his freedom.
Read Acts 16:25-26
Here Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God.
Suddenly a great earthquake shook the prison and all the doors opened and everyone's chains were loosed.
Read Romans 15:30-31
Here Paul is asking for prayers that he may be delivered from those in Judea.
Read 2nd Corinthians 1:8-11
Here is another account of Paul in Asia where the help of others praying together delivered him from a sentence of death.
To Escape From Temptation
Read Matthew 26:36-41
In this story, even the Lord needed someone to pray with him.
Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane and took his disciples to pray with him. He found them asleep but then told them to watch and pray
lest you enter into temptation.
